The Wellfleet Montessori Preschool is a 3-day program with an optional 4th day for 2.9-5 year olds. The core program runs Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9-2, and the optional 4th day is on Monday. The optional fourth day is reliant upon successful minimum enrollment of 5 students. An extended day program is also provided from 8-3 and is available either individually (extended morning or extended afternoon) or as an entire extended day.

The Wellfleet Montessori Preschool guidelines require the following priorities and considerations taken into account in the final class selection process.

Priority will be given to those applications:

  1. Current Students
  2. Siblings of former students who are Wellfleet residents and teacher’s children
  3. Siblings of former students who are not Wellfleet residents
  4. Wellfleet year-round residents
  5. Students living in the Nauset Regional High School District (Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet, Eastham, Orleans, and Brewster)

Additional consideration will be given to:

  1. Families qualifying as low to moderate income
  2. Children considered high risk with no other available preschool options
  3. Subject to yearly review by the board and approval by the directors of both the Wellfleet Montessori Preschool and The Nauset Integrated Preschool, we will accept up to two part-time students from the Nauset Integrated Preschool from 8-12.

Program availability will be filled on a first come first serve basis. The program administration reserves the right to institute a lottery selection system for eligible applicants, should program response exceed available slots in each priority category.

The Wellfleet Montessori Preschool will not discriminate in providing services to children or families on the basis of race, religion, income, cultural heritage, political beliefs, marital status, sexual orientation or disability. In addition, Wellfleet Montessori Preschool will not prohibit enrollment in school based on toileting abilities.

Prior to the beginning of school, a form signed by a physician indicating that the child has had a complete physical exam within one year prior to admission must be submitted along with the necessary permission and release forms. Proof of current and proper immunization and lead screening is required, or, in the case of religious conflict or medical reaction, a written waiver must be secured.
